We are finally here!!!

Well, we are finally Wisconsonites! We left on August 1st and made our way to Wauwatosa, WI. We arrived on August 3rd. We drove through Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. Sheesh, what a trip! It was a family affair with Richard and I in the Penske moving truck carrying his Jeep and Richard's younger brother Taylor with Rooskie picking up the rear in my little car. I think we did really well for driving that far! (Well, Richard and Taylor drove. I was busy watching DVD's, reading magazines, and stuffing my face with treats :) Although it was so hard to leave family and friends.. we are excited for this new adventure. Richard starts med school orientation this Monday, Aug 10th and I recently found out I got a job at the hospital up the street on the transplant unit. I have taken a few pictures.. but will post more soon once I get our new place in order! Love and miss you all..

HE DID IT!!!!

After a long run of classes, tests, applications, and interviews..... Richard has finally gotten into medical school. WooHoo!!! He found out last Friday that he was accepted into the Medical College of Wisconsin. Looks like we will be moving in early August to Milwaukee to make it in time for the 1st day of school. Although I am anxious and kinda scared to move that far away, I am so proud of my hubby and for the hard work he has put in!

What the??!!!!

So.. the holidays are over and wow, what a whirlwind!!! Needless to say, I have slacked off BIG TIME with the whole blogging thing. I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year's! I will give you a small recap of what the first of the year has brought for the Thorsteds.. Richard started his last semester of school a couple weeks ago and can't wait to be done! Although some of his classes are a drag, he is an instructor in the anatomy lab again this semester and seems to really love it. My idea of fun isn't necessarily hanging out with dead people.. but what can you do? :) He is still in the process of getting into medical school and actually has an interview in Milwaukee, Wisconsin this Friday. (Keep your fingers crossed!) We are still waiting to hear back from other schools, so we will see. As for me, things are going well. I am still working at McKay Dee Hospital as an RN representin' on the night shift.. I have the bags under my eyes to prove it! I really enjoy the people I work with and feel lucky to have learned so much from them. Thanks guys! I also got a gym membership with my sis Emily and have enjoyed working out. Em is a good motivator and it has turned out to be a great way for me to burn off some steam. I am also proud to say I have officially labeled myself as "Queen of the Stairmaster".. still waiting for the results to follow my title :) We have also been up snowboarding this season and hope to go a lot more!! Whether it be the jobs we have or for our little house where we live.. I feel like me and Richard are just so blessed!!! We are excited to see what 2009 brings and can't wait to take you along on our adventures..

p.s. I will attempt to start blogging more.

Christmas is coming!!

I can't believe Christmas is right around the corner! I am proud to say that there are only 2 more gifts to buy and I am all done with my christmas shopping... WooHoo! We put up our Christmas tree a couple nights ago and have been enjoying the fun decorations.. I even have the lights on during the day time. (Don't tell Richard, the electric bill is on it's way :) We are hoping to go on a little trip next week to get away for a couple days. Richard and I both work during the holidays, so we thought it would be fun to go on a snowboarding trip somewhere. We'll see! Hope everyone is having fun and enjoying the holiday season!

Happy Halloween!!!

Last night Richard and I went to the Haunted Hollow spook alley. It was really fun, although the freaky people loved to feed off my screaming and running! (sicko's) We then came home and decorated pumpkins. Richard wanted his to have the scary look and I wanted a ghost. We also didn't want to leave Hampsty out, so we made her a little pumpkin too. I love this time of year.. so many fun things to do! Check out our pumpkin's before and after pictures.. Hope you all have a Happy Halloween!

Our home!

Richard and I moved this past June into a townhouse in South Ogden. We have just fallen in love with it here! We really enjoy our little place and have had fun making it our own. I took some pictures for those friends and family members who haven't been able to come by... Hope you enjoy :)

Let the interviews BEGIN!!!

I have never been so proud of Richard! This morning he woke up early and got dressed in a very nice suit (he looked so handsome) and left for his first medical school interview at the University of Utah. I felt like I was sending a kid to kindergarden for the first time!! I was so proud, nervous, and anxious all at the same time. He has worked sooo hard to get to this point in school and has given everything he has towards these dang med school applications. He has such determination and I admire him so much for it! As we open this new chapter in our lives, I am so excited to be able to share it with our family and friends.. Keep your fingers crossed for Richard and we will keep you posted on upcoming interviews and med school news!
